There’s something quite special

when you head for “Afternoon Tea”

it could be, the way you’re greeted

by the waiter or the waitress

or how its delivered on those

delicately balanced forms

cakes, buns and savouries

made up on posh bread

with flavours that play with the tongue in your head

served up with shiny cutlery, and finest of china

cups of fine porcelain and tea in silver teapots from nowhere finer

and crafted so delicately, they’re ever so small

in wonderful surroundings

you’re having a ball!
