A cake was in the centre of the table
with sandwiches, jellies and jams
served up with savoury items
like chicken wings, pork ribs and hams
the flavour of the cake was a secret
hidden under icing blue
kept under close guarded secret
only Mum and the baker knew
So imagine the smiles and the giggles
when the icing began to break
and the piece so neat revealed the treat
of a chocolate orange bake
