Time (eggtimer)

As brilliant bubbles

surface slowly through boiling water

timer turns as egg enters

gradual grains of sand

take turns to tumble from the top of the timer

winding their way with some welly

cascading down to great glass below

single sand grains switch spots

with each delicious drop as

sumptuous soft boiled eggs are

served in silver egg-cups

and taking time in the toaster ?

brilliantly browned off toasted and buttered bread

sliced up into soldiers and sent into

yellow yumminess
