The Great Hall

#Napowrimo #Salford #Ordsallhall

When the Romans left

The Saxons arrived

and built a home

by the waters edge

and they built such a place

with grand trees fields and walls

and a spot by the water

where the crops grew tall

Stables and granges

with Orchards for fruit

eaten by the horses

who would gallop round to boot

Royals and nobles met in the great meeting hall

where taxes were collected from tenants and all

and matters of state were discussed in hall, grand

while parties were held with a jester and band
