Displaced

The men with the dynamite

placed their charges

into the hill – there was a bang

The men with the dynamite

didn’t know what would happen

when the charges went bang

The men with the dynamite

created a shudder and a shake

locals called it an earthquake

So while the men – with their charges – grabbed gold from their pan

the locals took everything they can

heading down hill and spotting the rocks – that the men of ‘mite

caused an almighty shock

And what of the people moved from the hill?

they moved into a camp – and they live there still

hoping one day they can move back to their land

but of course – that’s not what the miners planned.
