Ode to a Pie

Brought together by the marvel of flaky pastry,

Cubes of the finest beef sit in a sauna

with onions, tomato and carrot

where they come together

to create a rich, tasty sauce

What to eat with this culinary masterpiece ?

Carrots, Peas, and there’s always Potatoes –

Chipped or Mashed

Answer lies in the supplies cupboard

Accompaniment that goes well with the pies content

A sauce of Tomato Red, or Fruit sauce, Brown

Perhaps even a rich onion gravy

Down to the choice of tatas, mash, or chips

where either could mean the Oxo cube wins

while the curry sauce mix hopes for the arrival of chips
