Poet Spotter

#Writeclub

The lesser spotted poet,
can be easily seen in the right kind of crowd
normally you can hear them chirping
where there’s a public stage or square around

And you can find them in contemplation
by water, or mountain or green
armed with notebook and scribbling device
often with sandwiches, seen

They’ll be looking for inspiration
and approval for their latest idea
so they’ll happily chirp out a ditty
if there’s a person or persons to perform

And when wanting them for people to be seen
they’ll wear a bright outfit – Red Yellow Blue or Green
in front of the crowd – they just can’t ignore
and hope they will send out some rapturous applause
