The day the sea came to play

The sea was bored, so he came to play

he’d been busy looking after

the shellfish, the crustaceans and other nippers

but they’d all gone – so he came looking

The fish were darting around the coral

chasing the bubbles about

The crabs were picking up shiny stuff

and making the seagulls shout

So on his own – he turned away

when from the sand – something came to play

two big feet and two little feet

emerged from the sandcloud – a really nice treat

And atop of his head – he gave a wave

as in his waters the four feet played

and giggles of fun could be heard with glee

till another sound called out – it was time for tea

So as they returned to the sandy banked edge

to enjoy a tea of fish and chips, lemon wedge

the sea waved goodbye to his pinky toed friends

hoping they’d come back – so the fun wouldn’t end
