The Hungry Bin

Sat outside the local fast food store

you wonder where he went

the friendly guy – sweeping streets by the store

filling bins with heavens scent

Wrappers from french fries and chicken

and burgers and spicy rolls new

as well as doughnuts and pancakes

and milkshakes and fizzy drinks too

Now its not normal for a bin to be hungry

but this steel bin’s got use to his treats

and you could say he got a little bit hangry

when the cleaning crew passed on the street

Their workmates looked round all the main streets

and backyards and side streets as well

but aside from an apron and name badge

there was to sight or sign to tell

So the next time you happen to pass by

give our metal friends something to munch

for it might not be leftovers they dine on

it might be you that they have for their lunch
