Thinking of Sandcastles

Autumn’s here,

West wind playing with the East wind

Turning weathervanes left and right

blowing the red and orange leaves in the air

and i’m thinking of sandcastles

Mercury in retreat

Thicker socks on my feet

as urban detritus travels down the street

dampened by the fallen rain

and i’m thinking of sandcastles

Autumn treats – they’re alright

and fireworks colour the night sky bright

as cinder toffee and gingerbread men

are sold in the winter market again

but that doesn’t stop me thinking of sandcastles
