Catalog of excuses

Something for the prompt

Catalogue of excuses

Based on the saying “Don’t put off till tomorrow, something you can do today”

As it arrived in the house

the raindrops started to fall

and the DIY Fanatic

began to have a ball

Its much too big for me he said

but i’m sure its worth the money

shall we leave it for a later date

when the weathers not so sunny?

Those clips and screws look really sharp

and bubble wraps a pain he parped

all those shapes to build a case

to put a smile on the families face

Why have they given an allen key

when normal screws will do

Instructions don’t read at all right

It looks like i’m going to be here all night

It says there’s One hundred and eighty bits

some big and some quite small

all for a cabinet for the dining room

when it’s finished it’ll look quite tall

And some of the instructions

don’t read well – so I follow the drawings (a guess)

noting that Draw A is in Slot C

I’ll admit it’s a bit of a mess

So as Luna arises, the parts are stacked up

the fixings amassed in a stainless steel cup

the one day job needs some wood fixing glue

so tomorrow it’ll look brand spanking new!
