The world according to sparrows

It used to be green

It used to be wild

but the humans moved in

and things changed for a while

as they chopped down our homes

and vacated the bees

pulling our friends down – namely the trees

metallic monsters resembling our kind

chopped off their branches driving us out of mind

so we parked in new homes, by the humans of brick

by the stone ponds on lawns that did the trick

our nests over flowing like grand huts or domes

in sight of the view of the humans homes

and rewards for landing in the greens of their lawns

are pleasant so we’ll snack from sunrise till dawn
