It sounds like feeding time,
from beyond the window,
there’s a aerial battle going on
as sparrows swoop from sedentary rooftop positions
to snatch the savouries in the nearby car park.
Cheeps and chirps a plenty travel through the air
as competitors discuss the best place to land a worm
whilst hiding under a hedgerow,
a cunning cat ponders not breakfast – but lunch
