An Overused Cliche

The scribbler sat at his easel,

reading between the lines.

It seemed like a literary masterpiece –

but instead of a rose-petal sonnet,

he’d opened a can of worms.

His girlfriend wasn’t talking –

something serious had to be done to repair that bridge

he’d cross that bridge when he got to it….
