It sits in the corner,
where it beckons you
any more goodies for me?
Now i don’t mean cakes or sweets or stuff
you would normally eat for tea
Envelopes, wrappings, and liners
he’ll fill up with by the score
and papers and other throwaways
you feel you don’t need anymore
Till the day comes around
and he’s put on a few pound
so he needs to be emptied outside
into his cousin with brilliant blue lid
waiting for the bin men with pride
