A Meeting of Minds

mat/met/mitt/mot/mutt

Two old friends met in the yard

while their owners played ball with a ball and mitt

They sat on the mat quietly watching

Till the ball fell in nose range of the mutts

and in one move the ball game changed into a game of catch
