how can i put this ? pruning

for the shirts and trousers you’re wearing

seem a little baggier this month

The mince pies and turkey sandwiches

have been burnt off

leaving a sizable gap

tween your waistline and waistband

Spring Zephyrs

flow past your coloured shirts

and they move

like a boats sail

Rejoice…the weight loss

and exult in the joys of the new season

and the baggy trousers of old ?

can always be held up by an extra notch of your belt
