just lying on the shore

Tell me about its shape and colour

and if you’ve seen one before

It’s awfully shiny

as you look at it under the sun

it’s turning the sunbeams to colour

now isn’t that lots of fun!

its connected to a series of metallic links

very small to see

did someone wear it round their necks

it’s hard not to agree.

So you take the item to lost property

where its bagged and labelled and stored

with a hope it’s owner comes to get it

and it returns to where it was before
