The festivities of christmas and winterval over

Heaven’s open to a brand new year

Everyone’s wrapped up tightly while

You are pondering when the Mercury is going to move

As you tap the thermometer on the wall

Robins, Blackbirds and Starlings are passing by the window

Expecting a bumper feast

If you put a few layers on – you might risk throwing out some birdseed

Note though – you’re in the minority –

Door Opening invites Mr Frosty for tea

Of Course – you’ve got the heating on – but just

One opening of your door brings in the cold and the wind

Remain inside – if you don’t need to go out yet

Should you have to – wear your scarves, bobble hats and mittens
