Silent Night

#Christmas

Its funny really

the people have gone crazy

leading up to this point

running around for gifts and presents

those extra special things for the kids to unwrap

left under the tree

Mountains of Food, prepared for the feast

and landed on a fancy table around the beast

visits from family few days after that

and late christmas mail dropping on the mat

as twinkling lights on the tree they go by

there’s no one outside, and you wonder why

could it be the arrival of the cold wind that does blow

or perhaps more the work, of hail, frost and snow?
