Its already happening

as the school kids were returning

to English and maths

The Big Deciduous were sending a Red Alert

“Winters Coming!”

As Lush green leaves turned Red, Yellow, Orange and Brown

sending a message of change into town

the colours much richer, bright and bolder

the message relayed – it’s going to get colder

but under the horse chestnut tree

the children are getting summat for free

as it drops its seeds , in growth its aim

the kids pick them up, for a schoolyard game
