in the midst of a quiet kitchen
something was brewing
sending a message to the little uns
lots of ingredients
were spending their time
bathing in a stock jacuzzi
you had seen one or two ingredients
but you were shepherded out
by the chef, aka Dad
and so as the magic mix of ingredients
bubbled happily on the stove
the keeper of culinary secrets kept guard
and you would watch, as on occasion
your dad would consult with the lid
throwing in some salt and perhaps pepper
