I Might live in a city, but there’s plenty of green around the place
and it’s just the right time for the flowers to pop up
pinks and purples, whites, blues and yellows
all carpeting rockeries and bedding
up and down the cul-de-sac
and the birds and squirrels
make impromptu appearances
as they land on the fences, rooftops and lawns
attracted by the sights of bugs, berries and nuts
