Confused Seagulls

21st August 2020

Don’t be alarmed folks

technically, it’s still summer

the kids are all out of school

while the mercury continues to rise

but up amongst the cotton wool clouds

while down below the trees are moving

in a mid summer breeze

the birds are wondering should they stay or go

Destination’s already decided

they’re headed for southern shores

way past the spanish coast

to a place where mercury still rises

The trees point their way

to a new destination

whilst the winds sail fast

in a different direction

Occasional breeze

leads them on to a purch

and in direction of the wind

they lurch.
