Wild Blackberry

flown in over field and dale

landed among the town’s bracken and bush

entangled in some weird hug with the original bush

where expert eyes, pick up the most sumptuous berries

inspected, and sent off to the kitchen – spending time

next to the sugar and pectin – for creating a tasty jam
