I remember this place

a little place in the hustle and bustle

of Manchester’s metropolis

dropping in, and picking up lunch

a pastie or a turnover

that i saved for after morning seminars

in a quiet place of greenery

they survived the goings on,

the marches, the protests, the vandalism

even the bomb couldn’t keep them away

but then the banks made a plea of poverty

and the store had to close for the day.

    Business carries a high risk which is most of the time remains written in small print and many fail to read it. Sad that the bank debt hurdle couldn’t be overcome.
    Poignant tale.
