Mirror Man

A tale of a street performer, inspired by Fandango’s Picture in the Flash Fiction Challenge

He Stands on his spot,

on the grass in the square,

doing his thing

while the others stare.

Today it is sunny,

so today – there’s a crowd

with his occasional movement

they cheer out loud

Sometimes a bird might land on his head

hoping for the chance that they might be fed

So inside his pocket – should there be a need

he has a small bag, of bird food or seeds

Little girl passing, trying to be brave

mirror man turns and gives her a wave

and watches others, as he gives them the time

in amusing but wordless performance in mime.
