Salford 12th September 2019

They woke up one spring morning,
at the light of the sun
Bobbing around in a gentle breeze
their dancing – just begun
Over the long grass and daisies they dropped
as their coloured dresses flipped and flopped
and as they danced round in the wind
the daisies waited for the breeze to recind
Duetting with the dandelions
as their seed just flew away
wondering who – apart from the wind
that they would like to play
Pink and purple parading in pairs
above a daisy covered shower
among the blades of fresh green grass
a wonderful coloured flower
