“Weather”

5th February 2019

Red skies at Night, Shepherds Delight…..

Red Sky at Night, Shepherds Delight - an example.

This old phrase is still around today.

It was the shepherds way of telling fine weather – a red sky at night normally foretold of fine weather next morning

Whilst a red sky in the morning, normally was followed by grey clouds in the skies above. It gave the shepherd time to get his flock onto lower ground and avoid an immediate drenching 🙂

We’re not out of winter yet in the UK, no matter what the met office say, and I’ve known it snow in March, despite it being technically Spring.
