Priceless

its interesting the way things are valued

I’ve returned to this pic i took at the local art gallery, currently displaying some pieces from the Pilkington factory, once of Salford, now St. Helens.

Of course , every item has its price tag.  There is a replacement value for Insurance purposes….initial cost of production….blah blah.

The artist will want their recognition of course, the irony ? Their work’s rises upon death – thanks to some VERY Shrewd investors.

But the cost to replace the artwork – is priceless – for it would take a great deal of time, skill and blood sweat and tears to replace the artwork behind the glass panel.  And once the artisan has passed, you could copy his/her work…but it would never match the original….it would be a pale imitation

drop it….and it might get its value back….buried and recovered decades later….

So, with that in mind – here’s a pic of a local northern landmark – An impressionist view of the Chinese Arch in Manchester – from a local artist (you might know him, you’re reading his stuff!!!) – lets call it £10 for a print 🙂
