Whilst walking
Through the city green
I saw the leaves turn from
Green to brown
And watched as they
Drifted on the wind
Through the town
Local birds are confused
Amassed on the tops
And squirrels they wonder
Why their food has all dropped
It’s much too early
And not too late
So why go and forage
And hibernate?

Many thanks for reading Bella. This was another post inspired by simply walking down the path, the colours of red, yellows, greens and browns are abundant this time of year! In addition there’s a heap of conkers around the parks this month – who if not taken by the kids for the game of conkers in the schoolyard – are happily foraged away by local town squirrels in the park 🙂

Oh didnt know conkers are enjoyed by squirrels… i always have to dig up little trees in spring from what the squirrels left behind

Oh thats a bit shocking as peanuts are put out for birds .. well i have seen neighbours do it. I dont do anything as we get cats and foxes sometimes.. so i let nature take care of itself.. because i dont want them feeling safe when mr cat and fox can come anytime. Gosh there is so much i dont know.. great to learn

The ONLY thing I’ve got against the grey squirrel (coming from that part of Britain, where the Reds live) is that darn virus they carry around with them…other than that, I like watching them in the local parks – only problem about my nearest park – its by the busiest road in Europe! 😦
