waiting

Waiting

the town bell chimed five

as the morning shift stood as one

awaiting the tram home

tickets bought, train on way

nothing to do, less to say

so they stand waiting

man of the tracks looks

forwards and back, as Silver

wheels trundle across rail

The time seems to stand

slowing down your party plans

and the puddles splash
