Playing with Bokeh

I’ve been busy in BASICs photography class today – practising the art of Bokeh.

Bokeh’s where you throw your light source out of focus on your camera to create an effect.

A Coffee Cup of Stars – Created in BASICs Photography Session

This picture was taken with my Samsung WB-250F.

In order to achieve the effect there had to be adequate distance between myself, the coffee cup and the “Stars” which were hung carefully from a backdrop to look like they were leaving the coffee cup.  It was achieved by creating a makeshift filter for the Samsung camera lens, which concentrated the light on the lights and the coffee cup
