Chocolate Cake

Following on from my post on Lemon Meringue Pie, Here’s a recipe for a Chocolate Cake.

 

For this cake : You will Need

2lb of Flour

2lb of Sugar

1lb of Butter

3 heaped teaspoons of Baking Powder

Cocoa Powder and /or Chocolate

 

Method

Mix flour and the butter together, and then the sugar and the baking powder

then Stir in the Cocoa and/or fresh chocolate to the mix

Once mixed together – place in a greased tin and put in a warm oven for 1 hour

After baking let stand, and decorate to your choosing.

  1. Yum yum. That sounds really easy! There’s a lot of flour, sugar and butter in this! I would normally use half these ingredients. What size tin did you use? Have you got a photo?

    1. Georgie – I’m going to confess summat here, in order to get the post out – I’ve missed out a crucial line – This Recipe makes THREE Cakes (oops!) It was copied from my notebook I take for my on/off cooking lesson – I use a Round 12″ Tin but I suppose you could use a square one…
