Thirty Minutes

Another Allpoetry Silver winner – write about thirty minutes they said – so I did!

Thirty Minutes
Half an hour
two thirds into a half of a football match
time to land that important catch

Flat packed tables with allen keys
time taken for movement in calm seas
and time for the water to reach out to shore
and time taken for your team to score

Used quite soundly you can make new things
and put in the garden a sea-saw and swings
to let your kids out in the garden for hours
playing amongst the grass and the flowers
