Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek

An Allpoetry  piece by yours truly – about little green men from mars (sic)

They called him “Curiosity”
and sent him off to Mars
to dig up samples of possible life
and collect them up in jars.

He had a bumpy landing,
from his journey from far off earth
but once he’d picked up rays from the sun
he was off for all he was worth

He collected samples for a week
the humans – on earth – sent him to seek
up and down this planet of red
till he powered down and went to bed.

And when he woke up
Imagine the surprise
Greeted by little men from mars
when he did rise

“You found us!” said a little furry creature in Green
“We’re such great hiders – we’ve never been seen”
So then it was his turn – and his wheels they did run
(after he’d charged up his batteries in the sun)

So, Dear scientists don’t worry today
his batteries aren’t broken – he’s gone off to play
with his new friends the Martians – he’s been there for weeks
finding new places – to play “Hide and Seek”
