Spring Green

Spring green Leafs – colorful Background Blur

Signs are there that, finally, possibly

persistent winter weather is on its way out

returning to the trees – signs of life

in the form of bright green leaves

note the winds are slowing down and its

getting warmer outside

Airmail (image from Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie )

There were moments , she hated the winter weather

The rain, the snow and the biting hail

but while everyone was locked inside

held in by the invisible bug

she was grateful for messages

being sent across island waters

by the four winds north south east and west

Blown Away

#Leaves #Autumn #Wind #Kite #writeclub

A response to this weeks write club theme – there will be more, thanks to lockdown!

You could tell it was the first day of Autumn

the four winds were having a wail of a time

with the things their friends had left them

It wasn’t Christmas , but it might well have been

for as well as the brown, yellows and golds

the trees had left them something – Red and Blue

So instead of lifting the sparrows around

they decided to play with the thing they had found

and kids from their windows spotted at night

the winds playing happily with their red and blue kite

Breeze

Salford, 23rd May 2020

#weather #nature #winds #trees

Something’s afoot,

the barometer has moved with a bounce

it’s not a Winds day but it

feels like it and the

foliage on the trees – is dancing

Westerly winds

in a rush to navigate their way to

northern pennine hills

determined trees – doing their best to

stay upright from the invisible charge

Storm

Someone got a wild idea, while the waves hit the harbour wall

There’s fish for the taking! so out they went. travelling

Over every high wave and breaker

Reality ? the fish they caught – though many, were

Mightily small – hardly good enough for the ships cat.

Frost

Another Wintry acrostic for a cold winters night

From the arctic north

Rolling icy winds travel across the Island

Over hills and meadow they go, Painting everything white

Sun in the sky, fairly invisible to the eye

Turning young minds towards sunnier days.
