Hot Magenta

#CYW #HotMagenta

Salford Street sign – in Hot Magenta

Its not what you’d call a subtle colour

and it couldn’t be called pink or purple

a fiery marriage where red meets blue

but mother nature seems to like

using their off spring to bring a bit

of eye catching colour to the garden

look around you’ll see it every where else too

in signs, on walls and in windows

the future’s bright – the future’s …. Magenta

Life

Windows

With each new morning, and an opening of curtains

Is a brand new picture for your eyes to view

Note the trees and the flowers and

Doves and pigeons in the sky above

Of course, this isn’t a painting – it’s real life

While you are watching out of your window

Something else is taking place, right here, right now

Abandoned (Derelict)

#FFFC #Abandoned #Derelict #Brokenwindows

with thanks to Aron Jäger@unsplash.com for providing the Image

I remember the weeks before the builders moved in

the children, were now learning – in bright shiny blocks

up the road in the next district

whilst the old building sat – a nest for the birds

and a target for vagabonds with little on their minds

smashed glass and vibrant graffiti the order of the day

as the old iron gates sat rusting

waiting for the wrecking balls to arrive

Glass

DSC_0008_1

In response to
Glass

I.

Under tremendous heat

Sand melts down

into clear globules

which form into a clear substance

Its clear to see

II.

If we didn’t have glass

we would probably be

Living in Caves

(letting the wind in)

III.

Magical substance

Liquid then solid

Forming  beaker

Holding drinks

IV.

Multiple Uses

from the thermometer

to much simpler kinds

the child’s marbles
