A penny farthing, Passing the lowry in Salford. Stock Photo by Alamy – Messed about a bit by Inky.
Look at Me!
on a Victorian street, a marvellous thing that’s hard to beat I rest by a wall where I stand up tall I can be seen by the noble the Blacksmith , and all My rider sits down on th’seat – wood and brass Awaiting a whistle Allowing him to pass And as I pass toy shop the children all cheer! As adults enter hostelry picking up beer And as I pass neighbours on pavement nearby Pigeons on Barbers roof begin to fly As the rider moves off I begin to wobble with my wheel catching corner of raised shiny cobble But my rider is careful – or else he would fall so he keeps his head high and body straight and tall
Early Morning (Image by Brian F Kirkham)
A half opened eye toward the window
streaks of pastel cloud pepper the sky
local aviators practice their morning manoevres
before caged tigers are released into the wild
and rumbling wheels pass down the road
IWM North, September 2018
an acrostic poem by inkdrop, on the newest arrival in the Main exhibition space of
IWM North in Trafford….
Made up at the Locomotion works in Bolton
A Machine to bring terror to the enemies eyes
Thundering across land and desert
Hot on the tail of any enemy Infantry
In time, tales would be told about her and her thundering wheels
Launching shells and ammo towards the enemy
Dangerous ? all missions are aren’t they
Allies relying on this mighty armoured tank
Wail like a graceful swan dear driver
it doesn’t matter – everyone around you is looking
to others – its like the circus is in town
the only things missing are your make up and
evaporating sense of humour
reacting to traffic was never your strong point – and its showing

An acrostic in response to the prompt
public service vehicles 🚗
a godsend for the pedestrian
sailing down a local tarmac track near you in a
spectrum of bright colours
each one stopping to receive a customer
note the people waiting to get on these
great wheeled chargers of the road
expections of all to get
round to their destination on time, and in comfort
Browsed through my archives on cd looking for circles in response to Daily posts latest photographic challenge.
Here’s what I found 🙂
