Water reflecting sunlight, Image by SC Vincent

Should any foolhardy person want to go treasure hunting

it’s not the treasure horde of a

long lost pirate down in that water

view you see is merely Ra peering at himself in a mirror

even if you went down into the depths

reflections would evaporate….and you would only be saying Hi to fish.

Octpowrimo – Day 22 – Broken pieces

#Octpowrimo #Brokenpieces

Imperial War Museum North, Manchester UK (via the Inkwell), 22nd October 2019

How does someone express the act of war ?

take you through a hundred years

and tell that tale – that no one else can tell anymore.

The man with a vision

took a thing for brewing his cuppa

and changed it into something – iconic

Smashed with a hammer

Earth air and water

came together and reformed

Falling at the side of a waterway

painted by a painter

who’s centre stood next door

And in the evening sunlight

the air shard shone as shimmering light

cascaded off its solid steel

Morning beckons

and the tales from the shards

can be heard across town

from the tales within.

Broken

#Octpowrimo #Broken

more than one penny dropped

on the fall to the ground

vision went haywire while

every single memory

moved around like scrambled eggs

expectation – another rendezvous with the

neurological ward

to fix the problems caused by the drop

Story Telling

A silver medal winning piece on telling stories

Words on a page
are like keys to a door
opening to a vision

I want to gallop
cross moor and fields
in the light of the morning sun

I want to be a detective
solving mysteries
and do it all before lunch
and perhaps after tea

I want to be the leader of men
or wolves or dwarves or trolls
and go on an adventure
and see where fate it rolls

Some they call them fairy tales
but you know – it never fails
that upon hearing tales of this kind
it sparks new visions in the mind
