Views from a Window

I

Facing Swathe’s of Green

Little fruits play hide and seek

under leafy shade

II

Tomatoes Blushing

Star of the evening platter

by the battered cod

III

Empty vines begin

growth of some brand new red fruits

new fruits taking shape

Toastie

#Discoverprompts #Food # Toastie

Salford, Sunday 5th April 2020

To many, it’s better than Sunday Lunch

Over the country, they’ve been cooking under the grill

A combination of Ham and Cheese, and sometimes tomato

Sitting under the grill and combining to make a

Totally tasty treat

Instantaneous flavour from bite to bite

End to scrumptious end

Spaghetti

Spaghetti : Image from stock art created by Inky Using Painter Essentials 7

Sent headlong into the boiling water

Pasta long and thin took a bit of a hot bath

As it did, the concoction it was being served with

Gradually came together, as minced beef met up in a

Hot tomato jacuzzi with onion , carrot and mushroom

Eventually,

Turned out onto plates and sauce and pasta

Twirled together round a trident aided by a spoon

Italian cuisine turned out on Mancunian plates

Eggplant

4th January 2020

Everyone our way knows it as an aubergine

grilled and served up with

grated cheese and tomato

purple tinge to its black skin – never known once grilled

leaping to life in any greek dish

and lipsmackingly wonderful on a summers day

note though – best served with oil and herbs

tastes wonderful with a drop of house red

Tomato

Together on the vine they grow

Over time they develop

Making a change from green to yellow or red

As the colour changes so does flavour and sweetness

They can be eaten hot or cold, in soups, fried or grilled

Or cooked down and used in a pasta dish, or salad

Color Red

A selection of stuff, taken by me during photography classes

submitted for Cees Fun Foto Challenge

Starting from the top, the Man Utd bee (1 and 2) – still buzzing around Old Trafford, Manchester as part of #Beeinthecity . next the tin soldier (3), an old tin box i kept cookies in. Red Bowl with soup in comes next (4), for the culinary photographer – Tomato Soup, (5) Trafford Road Bridge, near to Manchester Utd (6) Tomato on a Slate (7) Red Begonias, and (8) Red Bauble on last years Christmas Tree

The Orb was a lighting experiment – and used Red LEDs to brighten up a Glass Sphere.

Hamburger

#food #acrostic

Hot off the grill

A delight made with the finest ingredients

Maybe it’s the

Beef that’s tenderised

Until it’s just right, or perhaps it’s the sliced

Red tomato and fried onions that

Go as a garnish on top of it

Encapsulated in a sesame seed bun

Ravishing ? There’s not a hot dog that can beat it

Things with the letter C

dsc00896

In response to https://ceenphotography.com/cees-challenges/fun-foto-challenge/

Starting off with a Colourful one, taken at a session of the photography group Basic Clicks – Six Colourful Carrots on Blue Canvas!

DSC01315

here’s a couple of interesting Cutlery pieces – the first is of four forks against a wall,  – i liked the shadows created in this pic.

DSC01319

Combination of ideas here, with a twist – Spirals of Cutlery , set on canvas.

dsc00885

Still life shot of various vegetables set out on a slate Cheeseboard, some onions (white and red), a tomato, a cut Cabbage and the return of one of those Carrots we saw earlier

Trafford_Rd_Swing_Bridge.JPG

Now fellow wordpressors might have seen this one before, but as its cees photochallenge, i thought i’d put it on here – not for the wonderful bridge (that’s the wrong letter folks!!!) but for those fluffy white marshmallow clouds , over looking the quayside at Salford, attached to the Manchester ship Canal.

Blue flower

Last but not least, here’s a close up of a cornflower – i like this one because of the colour!

The Art of a sandwich

Edible

Some say it begins with

a loaf of bread, nicely sliced – type – to your preference – two slices

next – comes the spread – butter, margarine, salad cream or sandwich spread

dedicated sandwich makers always go for the mayo

when that’s been applied, on goes the salad, lettuce cucumber tomato

If you fancy it, add olives or sweetcorn and then

cover it in your favourite meat before putting the top on

heavenly!!!!

Sandwich

Sandwich

Scouting out the kitchen cupboards

armed with two ciabatta rolls

navigating your way through the meat in the fridge

dark red salami and piquant spiced ham await

with tempting tomato and cool cucumber

in reach in the salad drawer

coming together with mayo in a

heavenly combination
