Reduced to a second relic in the corner

Even the technician suggested it was past its best

Computer’s do have a shelf life – but

To others – all that was needed, was a bit of

Installation and dusting down

Fresh drivers and a spot of cleaner – soon back to its

Youthful side, particularly with a new CD-Rom Drive

An acrostic on WiFi technology in response to fandangos one word challenge

Wireless….

It’s like your stereo, but it’s much more

Fun….particularly if you like gaming

It allows you to move around with your devices

World Wide Web

In the palm of your hands

For the time you need

Instant information

Wondering around

In the great outdoors, whilst

Following the goings on at home on

Instagram, Facebook, and twitter

Where would we be without this technology?

Internet and telephone

Fixed into the wall….dial up networks ?

It’s not fun at all…you’re waiting forever to connect

It’s funny – four days into 2019 and my computer died.

the casualty

My trusty pavilion 15 from Hewlett Packard decided to pop off its mortal coil and join the choir invisible. Switching it on – it gave its warnings – beeps beeps and more beeps. It was – in effect – a dead parrot

(Cue Cleese, – It is no more – it has ceased to be – gone to the great tech cloud – Yada Yada)

It’s death was confirmed by the tech expert at my local Currys store, where, after a brief period of mourning and a check of the finances, I purchased its younger brother (slightly better spec, different colour, No need to update to Windows 10 ….)

I will however miss the old one (we had some good times….(SOB!))

Signs that winter is on its way

Quite inquisitive fellow made his way across the garden fence

Under the fir trees and around the hyacinths

In search, of something

Round , red brown, and tasty to

Restock his larder for winter

Every now and then looking around, protecting his hide

Looking for morsels in every inch of the garden

Gremlins

Salford, 23rd November 2017

Gremlin n. a cause of unexplained malfunction

ever get one of those days when nothing goes right ?

Thursday evening – and i’m going through the snaps i took with the D3100 the other day.DSC_0120.JPG

Now take a look, this is how my dear computer judges what my camera thinks my outside lawn looks like.  It could be it was fooled by the Manchester weather, and in its defence it was throwing down stairrods when i took the pic.  But then again, i have been confined to the house the last few days – thanks to a bug i picked up (don’t worry – the cold remedy has worked)

Now before it throws another strop – here’s evidence for the prosecution – it worked perfectly well when i was doing my black and white shots in the kitchen.

Kettle

and it liked the pics of the spoons

Silverspoons

It even liked the black and white shot i took of the Coffee, Sugar and Tea Jugs

Coffeeteasugar

So i’m starting to think – my poor old camera has caught a cold (sic)

Or that the gremlin that lives on my computer (hereby known as the update wizard) has attacked my computers ability to work out colour!

Cloaked

Could that new fangled coloured box, be that must have games machine you’ve been

Looking at in the newspapers and magazines all year

Over every review, it supposedly beats the competition hands down

As you are lined up with your friends, the gossip

Keeps on growing – as to what is inside it

Expectation grows as well – until the

Drapes are lifted and the secret is out.
