Sat on a bench

taking in the last of the sun’s daily allocation of rays

in that moment of time tween day and night

looking out for luna popping out from behind the marshmallows

lighting up the sky as ra dips below the horizon

Shimmer

Beach (Image : SC Vincent)

Sole observer watching by the shore, as

hopping and skipping towards the beach

in a race to get to him

many of Neptune’s and Ra’s children

move hop skip and jump creating colourful patterns

each one hoping they’ll get there first

racing bring smiles to all who see it

Lantern

Lantern

Salford 23rd June 2020

Lighting up the darkness

as the Sun dips below the horizon

night-time seems an awful lot friendlier with

them , as they brighten the dark gloom

enlightening any stroll in the

rolling dark blue shades of

night-time, until Luna pops up behind a cloud

Rolling on in

Salford, Monday 4th May

It’s early morning, as i rise

and the street is busy to my surprise

for waking up the chorus (Dawn)

a pussy cat, a little forlorn

He’d spent his time, with his pals last night

playing around under the street lights

but now Ra is up, it has to be said

this furry old cat wants in for his bed

His stomach is full, thanks to a friend on the street

corned beef from a can – a most tasty treat

but his thoughts turned to breakfast, as on street he did play

so off to the garden , he began to make way

And up is his owner, so he’s through the back door

and slowly he goes off to his bed on the floor

so while humans are out, with meetings they keep

our furry old pussycat, is in bed, sound asleep

No computer required

as up on my window ledge

there are feathered friends residing

until their chicks are fully fledged they’ll be

residing there chirping from morning till night – I

expect to be up early when the sun pops up

Together

Sun bobbing down the horizon – photo provided by sue vincent

#Writephoto #together

They’re quite a team – the Sun and the Moon

On the whole they’re quite phenomenal

Giving the people that live on Mother earth, summat to look at

Each day they work either side of this blue jewel

The Sun giving light to one half while the Moon shines on the other

Helping fishermen land their catches, and Night workers to find their way home

Earth helping both by turning around

Rotating to catch the light

Sunset

Salford, 31st March 2020

A poem on the sun going down by inky – its been published by Forward Poetry, appeared on Luna’s blog at Lunatheblog.com and now its back home – enjoy the read………

The pebbles on the shore
were picked up and stacked
for skimming on the sea

Stacked with care
Precariously balanced
The wind made them wobble

The sun watched as
it created shadowy silhouettes
around the sandy shore

Till the tide began to turn
and the stack on the shore
alerted the little ones

The pebbles on the shore
told the children playing on the sand
it was time to go for dinner

Daybreak

#Writephoto #Daybreak

Daybreak : Image prompt from Sue Vincents Daily Echo

Darkness disappeared from view

As the moon and sun changed places

Yawning – Luna told Ra she’d see him at noon

But now, she was off to bed

Ra smiled, as he peeked above the horizon

Everyone seeing his glow raised a smile

Apart from those who had been running under his sisters light – now

Kipping in their beds in the nearby trees

Cloudy skies today ? hardly

light from the sun falls down like raindrops

even the sky is a wonderful shade of blue

a warm and bright day

ready for a picnic ? we’re headed for the park
