The world is immense – to most people

Over the water there’s places you’ve never been to

During your lifetime – you’ll experience many a new thing

Daffodils won’t be the only flower you chomp on as you

Let your little toes explore the water (with mum and dad’s help)

Enjoying the nice warm sand in a place thats new whilst

Relaxing under a colourful umbrella.

Message in a bottle – 2

Character, Humour, Places, Poetry, Tale

Salford, 21st July 2017

Remember that piece I wrote about the message washed up in a bottle ?  I’ve given it a little thought and wrote what might have been on that rolled up paper!

Messageinbottle

Sat, as I am
on this deserted isle

I’m sending this message
to make someone smile

Being stuck on this island
isn’t much fun

even though theres blue skies
and lots of sun

so I’ve drawn you a map
and hope you might see

to send out a crew
to rescue me!

Goodbye Sun, Hello Moon

Astronomy, Beach, Poetry, Weather

Another tale poached from my repository at Allpoetry.com by me – Hope you Like it

The sun set on the sand , that summers night,
heading to brighten another place bright.
It slowly went behind the sea
and shimmered on waters, in front of me
The sky changed colour from blue to red,
and slowly the sun dipped its head.
And as the sun dipped behind the bay
stars of afar began to display.
It took a while to make a mark
the moon appearing in an arc.
A carpet of stars appeared from up high
twinkling as I passed them by
and water in the bay, reflected the light
of the new moon that lit up the night.

Storms a Passing

Poetry, Weather

From the Archive at Allpoetry.com, thought i’d share this one – a poem on the rain!

The field needs a watering
so nature gives a hand
layering the clouds so
they’re above the land

As sun heads off
to the other side of the world
the pockets of clouds are
about to be unfurled

dropping the contents
onto fields that are green
growing the veggies
the peas, potatoes and beans

And as water falls
it refreshes the soil
so the farmer has no problems
and his plough does not toil

But the best thing of the night
apart from the moon
is the red sky of evening
good weathers coming soon

Reflecting

A response to the reflecting prompt, taken at Salford Quays recently

DSC00865.JPG

Sunset Reflecting on Ontario Basin, Salford Quays, Lancashire UK

Taken by me using my Sony DSC-H300 camera – using sunset mode and continuous frame.

Had a while to wait for the sun to duck below the clouds, but i’m happy with the end result and the colours in the water and sky.

Anyone wondering about the buoys in the water – this is where the watersports centre do their windsurfing, canoeing and line surfing.
