Magic

Salford, 29th April 2020

so, what do you see ?

portrayed in the glass ball in front of you

heaven knows, but the girl in the fancy silks

engages you to look at the image

revealing itself to her in the crystal ball

everyone outside the tent, says its an act – but who knows ?

A Musical Piece (p) Brian F Kirkham 2017

Brain and Spinal Injury Centre, Salford

10th March 2017

Today at BASICs photography session, we’ve had a bit of a Musical theme, using objects we’ve used before together with some musical notation.

Sheets of Music were used by the group to create some wonderful imagery. everything from rings and chains to coloured backgrounds.

Some shots required close up photography or zoom, whilst others required angles or distance. Once again, I used my Bridge camera to create the shots , and we used overhead lighting to get the best of the effects.   I’m happy with the shots I took in the session

Through a Lens

DSC00368.JPG

This weeks photography class at BASIC in Salford, involved taking photographs through an object.  The scenes were placed behind a Glass Ball and the pictures were shot through the ball.

The images obscured depending on the angle of the shots taken.  The Miniature image captured through the sphere a copy of the picture behind it.

Scenes Captured in a Ball – The technique produced some lovely effects

The idea was you didn’t concentrate on the image behind it – just the image in the ball!

The session produced some great pictures, and i really enjoyed creating the images i did with my camera.

Photography @ BASIC Ed2

With my new camera acquired the other day , I took it along to BASICs Camera class where we had a session of picture taking out in BASICs Garden – “The Enchanted Garden”

The Aim was to find some abstract art in and around the garden – whether it be in the plants, the trees, the flowers or even in the buildings that made up the garden

My favourite pic this session?  The Path of Leaves!

Really enjoyed this session as I get to grips with my new camera.

No Session next week – but i’ll still be busy – as I look for five things to capture

Something Red, A Portrait, Water, A Reflection, and an Old Building

and as a bonus challenge – I’ve got to do a compilation of all five items
