night skies

Nature

Thursday 6 December 2018

A rewrite of a poem i scribbled back in August 2010, the view inspired me to share it with you.

The moon plays hide and seek

as the air drops

casting a line of cloud

on the dark satin sheet of night

On occasion, peeking through

the sheet of cloud he yells peek a boo

joining his neon friends, painting the night

shades of pink, yellow and white

as hours follow minutes as seconds pass by

and animals make noise on the land and the sky

as to this day, we bid a fond goodbye

Mr frosts return

Photography, Poetry, Weather, Winter

Salford, 11th December

They said the mercury was rising today

Well, someone didn’t inform Jack Frost and his winter imps

For as I write, sat perched in a chair by a radiator

They appear to have left pretty patterns

All over peoples car windows and roofs

Seems like he’s skipped across the skies too,

As there’s a definite blue streak across Salford skylines

Storms a Passing

Poetry, Weather

From the Archive at Allpoetry.com, thought i’d share this one – a poem on the rain!

The field needs a watering
so nature gives a hand
layering the clouds so
they’re above the land

As sun heads off
to the other side of the world
the pockets of clouds are
about to be unfurled

dropping the contents
onto fields that are green
growing the veggies
the peas, potatoes and beans

And as water falls
it refreshes the soil
so the farmer has no problems
and his plough does not toil

But the best thing of the night
apart from the moon
is the red sky of evening
good weathers coming soon
