night skies

Thursday 6 December 2018

A rewrite of a poem i scribbled back in August 2010, the view inspired me to share it with you.

The moon plays hide and seek

as the air drops

casting a line of cloud

on the dark satin sheet of night

On occasion, peeking through

the sheet of cloud he yells peek a boo

joining his neon friends, painting the night

shades of pink, yellow and white

as hours follow minutes as seconds pass by

and animals make noise on the land and the sky

as to this day, we bid a fond goodbye

Conquering the blue

Each one towering over the other to get to the clouds

Dynamic in their structure

As their red branches and green fronds

Rise high up in the sky

mish mash of marshmallow skies

summer seems so far away

as angry grey cloud looms overhead

but out in the distance

as if playing peek a boo 👻

the sky pops through the clouds

all clearest and blue

Whilst planes, birds and balloons traverse in the sky

in the air the clouds mark their movement

swiftly making their way throught the blue

peppering the sky with all sorts of clouds

stratus – the long thin ones trail across the sky

Looking for rainbows in cloudless skies

Translation for those who don’t get it….be happy 😃

Look for the colour in your life….and if you can’t find any add some 😊

Horizon

Horizon

It’s that bit, where the sky meets the sea

the place where sun and moon go up and down

to tell the difference tween day and night

an elusive fellow by nature

as he looks so far away when you look at him

by the time you think you’ve got to where he is

he’s either ten miles in front – or stood behind you

Mr frosts return

Salford, 11th December

They said the mercury was rising today

Well, someone didn’t inform Jack Frost and his winter imps

For as I write, sat perched in a chair by a radiator

They appear to have left pretty patterns

All over peoples car windows and roofs

Seems like he’s skipped across the skies too,

As there’s a definite blue streak across Salford skylines

Firework

Firing high, towards the stars

is that pocket rocket, we know as stella

rising from her ignition point, she leaves glittery

entrails as she

works her way through the darkened sky

onlookers, smile as she paints the blackness with

really bright stars
