Somethings Brewing…..(Photo prompt from Sue Vincent)

#beyondthestorm #writephoto

Something told you it wasn’t going to be a

Terrific idea to venture onto the hills today, but

Of course you were out voted – as you and your pals

Rambled up the public footpath, seeking out paradise –

Maybe you could discuss what you found in that shelter – Atop the hill

Magpie

two magpies on a nearby roof
two magpies on a nearby roof

Making moves on a Salford rooftop

a magpie greets another –

getting comfy on a television aerial

perched as they are , on the corner of the building

it’s blustery and cold – so as soon as they’ve met – they

exit for a more sheltered position – under the cornices of a nearby building

Found in the darker parts of a garden

each little green leaf, enjoys the shade

reciprocating the deed for wildlife and toadstools alike

nature’s protection from a spring shower.

Horse Chestnut Tree

This poem was originally written for Allpoetry.com

I’m posting it under the Daily post Challenge Tree

Horse Chestnut Tree

by Brian F Kirkham

Sat there regally, in his park,
with brothers and sisters in an arc,
The Horse Chestnut tree spends his day
watching the children and adults at play.
He’ll be there, sitting, every week
as little children play hide and seek
and others shelter in the sun
while eating sandwiches or a bun

He shelters birds from passing rain,
and watches it flow down nearby drains
he protects those animals that don’t like to be pinned
by that autumnal passing wind

The Horse Chestnut Tree, is an amiable chap
and when all is quiet, he’ll take a nap
There’s only one thing – That drives him bonkers
when kids climb up him to pinch his conkers!
