The fast running stream
creates a moving cloudburst
over the mossy rock
The clouds have fallen
surprising the residents
under the water
Greenery watches
as the white mist promenades
over waters surface
Among all the rocks
who’s hiding in plain sight

I’ve been told there’s a place
that missing socks go
but where it’s located on this blessed earth
heaven’s do i know
perhaps they’ve gone to that
magic space where the locks have no keys
so they’ve locked on to a pole by a sunny bench
and are sunning themselves with ease
or maybe they’re sharing space in a box
with those puzzle pieces long past
the one’s you’ve been looking out for an age
and when you find ’em will yell at last
They could be hiding in your bag of marbles
or with your seaside pebbles and rocks
but the left out one has now found a right
even if you’re wearing odd socks…..

Perhaps the imps were out last night
up where the slate rocks lie
reactions to the sun falling on the hills
people are pleased with what they see on the eye
lilacs , lavenders and amethyst shades – all those and much more
everyone visiting loves the scene – so off they do explore
Up above the basalt hills
some creatures they were playing
they thought they’d be safe up high in the clouds
so they just carried on wi their stacking
Little flat and greyish rocks
stood on top of each other
one mountain dwarf enjoyed the fun
so he called on his brother
And together – they made something – oh so high
and other dwarves – round th’ hills – said they wanted to try
so they all joined in under cover of the cloud
and built something the village of dwarves were all proud
and to save the towers of which they had built
they left walkers message – down in the silt
“Artwork by mountain folk – please do enjoy”
“be careful around them – and do not destroy”

Up on the hillside, who is that
hiding up in those misty hills
are we being over looked
by giant’s giving us chills ?
for out there in the distance

leaving us nothing but shadows
only caught by pencil or quill

Family sit on the bank,
they’ve been doing this for years
keeping an eye out for their neighbours
providing cover from the atlantic wind
for the plants, and sometimes an animal or bird
and giving shade to the pretties in pink
their reward for this task

When i was little, i used to go
Out with mum and dad , and take in the
Natural beauty of the coastal beaches and amassed hillsides nearby
Dipping a toe in cold water and
Enjoying a walk
Round the bays, looking for interesting pebbles
What’s beyond that window in the cliff face
Or hiding in that hole in the sand ?
Nobody knew – so we decided to look
Dad helping lift up pebbles – as
Excitable little people watched
Red coloured crabs moving sideways towards the sand

The creator dropped his tool again
Turning the clouds a different shade of blue
The Angels sighed – and then
They cried – and their tears
Turned towards the earth below

The raindrops raced to reach the ground
some landed on the ragged rocks
some landed on fragrant fruits
whilst others joined their pals
in a race down the river

Rapidly rolling raindrops
Rotating , turning and foaming in
Revolving and lifting formations
Ripping and carving curves through the
Riverbank
IV
Construction – halted
Crafty beavers, otters and water-rats alike
Carefully watch the waters move so
Creation of a new home or dam can
Commence

By the time we reached the Island
lagoons – of blue green came into view
under these waters – fish and turtles
enjoying a paddle in the waters
glassy waters lapping up against the shore
resting in crevices of resident rocks
each one giving a home to
eager young hermit crabs…moving there
next to the sea, but away from the tide

Western’s always had one of these in a movie,
as they rolled through wild American country on a search for
gold, minerals or prosperous plains of plenty
over rocky terrain, sandy deserts and swamps they’d travel
north south east, but mostly west on search for a fortune
