Girl : Image from Google Images

The Christmas tree lights twinkled

as the girl stared under the tree

bright shiny gifts propped around the base

like supporting stones

expectations fulfilled ? perhaps – but

there was always something that

santa didn’t deliver – leaving an air of disappointment

Whoops!

Photo from MLMM

#MLMM

The lightest of things can bring the darkest moments

coming back home from dancing the light fandango

light as a feather you ascended the stairs

like you were floating on a cloud

angelic thoughts turned dark as you took flight

travelling through the air from a stray marble

on reflection – it wasn’t a good idea to let the little uns play Ker-plunk…

Midnight Blue

Moonlight

Moonlight brings a spot of colour to nightime

it brings a touch of blue to a

dreamy scene…highlighting the

number of marshmallow clouds floating

in the sky around the moon

gravitating tween the moon and her reflection in the

half-light dispersed by the water of

the lake below

Reflection of a shared room (school retreat)

Painting from photo : Castlerigg Manor, Keswick (p) Brian F Kirkham 2020

Keswick, 1987

Up in the hills

by a mountain stream

a place of reflection and retreat

the room shared three

with a view of the lakes

a place to ponder, relax and take breaks

colour scheme – calming

a sight of some sheep

and during our breaks we would gambol and leap

Still

Water by a bank – image from S.C. Vincent

#Writephoto #Still

Sitting by the water , taking in the view

The inhabitants must be sleeping – i thought i’d see a few

In fact all i see is reflections, of the trees a while away

Lined up, all upside down – but seen as clear as day, while

Looking for fish, as i laze away

Breathe

Salford, 24th October 2019

An acrostic of self help and photography!

Back on the corner of the quay

Really trying to grab the colours in that iconic building

Except – right at this moment – it’s not working for you

A time to step back, assess and relax

Take five , sit down and enjoy a drink of something frothy

Have something delightfully gooey and sweet and

Exhale – it’ll still be there when you get back

#fowc #reflection

Who’s that looking at you

As the image looks back

The image seems familiar

Except of course when

Ripples move across the way

My My! who is that, I call out

Inspecting the visage needing the

Razors attention in the morning

Ripples occur in the sink as the blades go in and

Out of the warm water

Razor cut hairs floating on the surface

Reflection

A response to #Iscriblr’s Freedom of Expression challenge

Ornamental Glass Decoration in the Garden at BASIC in Salford.

Where I’ve come with my new hobby

It was never about capturing a moment

blink at the wrong time – it was gone

hands gripped around the camera

like my life depended on it

but then with the picture

of a simple silver garden decoration

I saw something looking back at me

in a moment of wonder

I was taking a picture of something

and taking a picture of myself at the same time…

Reflection on Christmas Day

Newbold Verdon, 25th December

The nephews replaced the alarm clock

As the Santa clauses smiled

Dashing down the stairwell

To see what the real Santa had brought

Toys and gifts from far and wide

Bringing smiles to little faces

Before watching a film while

Tea cooked away in the oven

And a special something cooked upon the hob
