Chasing Rainbows

A response to photo challenge #319 at mindlovemiserysmenagerie.wordpress.com

Appearance of seven bright colours

Breaking through the skies leads to a

Chase through the streets by some in a

Desperate (or plain daft) attempt to grab

Elven, pixie or Leprechaun treasure

Fate decrees though, by the time the hunters

Get to their multi-coloured target , the treasure will

Have been moved…to another end of another rainbow.

Daydream

Sunday 1st March 2020

Doing schoolwork when the sun is shining is

A bit of a chore – and kids have been doing it for

Years, staring out the window

Doodling sheep out of the clouds

Reactions from the teacher ?

Expected, but getting angry won’t grab their attention

As the warm rays cast onto the tables of the classroom

Making colourful rainbows across the table

It is easy being green!

It IS Easy Being Green!

Green

Its quite easy being green

Watching the plants wake from the cold of winter

sprouting new shoots from barren branches

Calamatous cold conditions

giving way to glorious growth

watching wiry stems produce perfect petals

Evergreens look on proudly

as new growth comes from fallen seed

proud parent watching little seedlings

Rainbows of colour

pop through the carpet of lush greenery

from red through to violet – dotted round the borders

A Colourful San-San

Another piece on Rainbows and art.

When white light bends

through northern skies

It always raises a smile

The colours never end

with this pleasant surprise

captured by the eye

So, pick up your brush and paint the scene

and let the colours, red through green, fly

An acrostic by Brian F Kirkham – the Letters in the Acrostic are those of the colours of the rainbow, as opposed to the word RAINBOW or SPECTRUM.

RED ORANGE YELLOW GREEN BLUE INDIGO and VIOLET

Remembered by that well known phrase “Richard of York Gave Battle In Vain” 🙂

Hope you enjoy the read ….

Revolving colours

Orbit around a central point

Yellows, reds greens and blues

Go round and around

Being kept going, by the east or west wind

In perpetual motion

Veering left or right – depending on the direction the wind blows
