Desk (V2)

#Napowrimo

A Place where writing implements go to sleep

Hewn from the finest tree trunks

a place where the little apes

transfer their thoughts using pencil to paper

some use pen, some use paper

some use crayon, and some use colour

words and pictures cascade on the page

and then when finished, they return their tools

to a nice spot on the corner of the tree trunk

some might need a hair cut, for the next time they’re used

but for now, they sleep, dreaming of a rainbow of colours

Special Delivery

#Fowc #Delivery

A Knock on the door

there’s something special

waiting for you

at the front door

Not just any missive here

it’s wrapped up in fancy paper

metallic and shiny

with one great big stamp where its gathered on its bottom

For someone special

things to draw and paint and colour

and create things with

a “Thank you” card to the sender perhaps?

Packing

#SoCs #Holidays

Packing our bags again

as we head off for a country break

camping under some national park stars

key to this essential journey – notepad, camera and pencils

if needed – wellies and wet weather gear

navigation and maps essential for hiking and

good sleeping bag for kipping under canvas

Art from nature

#nature #art #autumn

Who needs oil on canvas

When the simplest of pleasures

Works it’s way on to the paper

With simple tools such as coloured pencil

When pressure is gently applied

Wiry shapes on the fallen leaves

Will appear…bringing the image of the leaf back to life

Repurpose

Salford, 28th January 2017

A post for the weekly photo challenge –

Repurpose

Things reused for not what they were supposed to be…

This can be illustrated nicely in my office cum bedroom

DSC00784.JPG

Its a Tin, an old biscuit tin….regular readers of my blog might recognise it – but a couple of Christmas’s ago, it held much more than the mere coinage than it does today…

its contained everything from creamy vanilla fudge to chocolate mints.

but today?  its a container for my spare change – the odd coppers that end up in my pockets of my trousers and coats.  when its reasonably full – i’ll take it down to the local coin machine and pocket the proceeds…which I might spend on a box of fudge or chocolate – and being empty, the tin will be re used again

I was given this tankard on my 21st birthday.  Now although I drink beer occasionally, I don’t drink it on a regular basis – and i’m more likely to drink out of a pint glass than a tankard.  So, instead of my tankard gathering dust on a shelf (or more likely, collecting windswept desert sand from the nearby Trafford road) I’ve put it to some kind of good use, holding the art materials that I use to create drawings and such you might see on here 🙂   there maybe a time it gets reused as a pint pot – but it’ll be well cleaned before I use it for that ! 🙂

A scribblers tools

Pens and Pencils

IMG_0030.JPG

Some say, I’ve got a young bill Shakespeare to thank for the

ink drop blog you see before you

although I’d say I’m not at his standard yet..

i will freely admit, I’m no professional .the recognition my work has received has been gracefully accepted

depending on the media used, I use a combination of computer art, digital photography as well as film , craft work and drawing

the pencils pens scraper tools and ink pens have produced a variety of works…some scattered about this site.

regular readers will know, my writings a bit wobbly.  So after putting the scribble in one of my coloured notebooks..post process takes place either on the compaq desktop or my windows laptop.

right now though I’m typing this post out on my new acquisition from Currys.  Tapping out a blog page on an IPad mini.

but I’ll always return to my craft tools at hand….

about my notebooks you will find the link below.
